This submersible pressure transducer is manufactured by Keller America. The CS460 measures water level with an accuracy of 0.1% FSR by using a strain gage bonded to a pressure-sensitive diaphragm. Electrical resistance changes as pressure changes on the diaphragm. The pressure measurement is then converted to water level.
Features
The CS460 has a Hytrel cable that contains a vent tube so that the sensor head can reach equilibrium with atmospheric pressure. As the vent tube connects directly with the back side of the sensor's diaphragm, water vapor needs to be removed from the air entering the vent tube. Removing the water vapor helps protect the sensor head from mildew, corrosion, rust, and also prevents formation of a liquid column in the vent tube which will directly affect the measurement.
