The 223-L estimates soil water potential from 0.1 to 10 bars. It is identical to the 227-L but configured for use with an AM16/32B multiplexer.
When the 223-L is wet, electrical resistance is low. As the 223-L dries, resistance increases. Calibration of individual probes is recommended for accurate soil water potential measurements. We recommend that probes be removed during winter. Expected life is two freeze-thaw cycles.
