CM240 Leveling Base and Mount for Rain Gages

The CM240 Leveling Base mounts and levels a CS700, TB4, or 385 tipping bucket raingage. The level base ensures more accurate measurements.

Features

The CM240 attaches to a CM300-series pole, or to a user-supplied 1.5 IPS (1.9-inch OD, unthreaded) pipe. The pipe should be long enough to place the gage's orifice at a one-meter height. The pole or pipe can be placed directly into a concrete foundation, attached to a concrete foundation using j-bolts, or self-supported with legs.

CS705 Tipping Bucket Snowfall Adapter

The CS705 is a snowfall adapter for tipping bucket rain gauges. It converts an 8" rain gage to a year-round rain and snow gage. The CS705 consists of an antifreeze reservoir, over-flow tube, and catch tube. Snow captured in the catch tube dissolves into the antifreeze. The melted snow raises the level of the antifreeze and water solution. The mixture flows through the over-flow tube into the tipping bucket where it is measured by the tipping bucket mechanism.

Compatible Tipping Bucket: TE525WS (cannot directly use the TE525, TE525MM, CS700, TB4 or TB4MM. You can convert the TE525 and TE525MM to a TE525WS by returning them to Campbell Scientific.)

Antifreeze Reservoir Capacity: 2.5 gallons
Recommended Antifreeze Type: 1:1 mixture of propylene glycol and ethanol (PGE). 
PGE is available from Campbell Scientific in a package of four, one-gallon containers. Antifreeze can only be shipped in multiples of four gallons via UPS Ground and can not be shipped outside of the Continental US.

CM300 23-inch Mounting Pole

The CM300 consists of a 23-inch-long, stainless-steel, 1.5-inch IPS vertical pole with a removable plastic dust cap. It is designed for mounting sensors, enclosures, or other instrumentation. It is an ideal mount for remote sensors such as a tipping bucket raingage or net radiometer. Our CS700, TB4, and 385 raingages are typically mounted to the CM300 via the CM240 Leveling Base.
