If you wish to regulate the pCO2 of a controlled environment chamber, either at an elevated or sub-atmospheric level, Qubit's A350 Solenoid Controller linked to one of Qubit's CO2 analyzers is the way to go! Gas supplied to the chamber is sub-sampled for analysis by the CO2 analyzer. To control elevated pCO2, the solenoid valve is attached to the outlet of a gas tank containing a high concentration of CO2. When the pCO2 of the sampled gas falls below a user-defined threshold, a signal from the CO2 analyzer causes the Solenoid Controller to open and CO2 enters the gas stream. The CO2 enters a mixing volume and combines with the major gas before entering the chamber. When pCO2 in the chamber reaches the user-defined threshold, the solenoid valve is closed.
The same principal is used to regulate pCO2 at sub-atmospheric levels in that CO2-free gas is bled into the major gas stream if the target pCO2 is exceeded. The flow rate of CO2, or CO2-free air, entering the system can be controlled by a flow monitor and controller upstream of the solenoid valve. pCO2 can then be regulated slowly, or more rapidly, when it differs from the threshold level.
