To use, fill with water and read the angle of the reflected sun with your sextant. Half your sextant reading is the sun's angle above the true horizon. Windproof and corrosion resistant, the reflecting surface is completely enclosed.

Celestial Navigation Work Forms
Professionally designed for use with the marine navigation and air navigation sight reductions tables as well as the Nautical Almanac. Work forms simplify calculations and reduce the chance of making an error. Used by experienced, active navigators as well as those learning to navigate.
Each pad consists of 50 work forms and a transparent, waterproof press-to-seal carrying case. Pads are 3-hole punched for easy insertion into the navigator's workbook. Step-by-step instructions and four completed examples (Sun, planet, Moon, stars) are included with each pad.
Hand Bearing Compasses
Using these precision marine hand bearing compasses, you can easily obtain quick magnetic bearings on shore or floating objects. Obtain a bearing simply by aligning front and rear sights on an object and reading off bearing. Uses include quick bearing or position set, determination of angular gain or loss on the competition while racing, checking distance offshore, establishing lee-bow set while cruising or racing in currents, drift vectoring and plotting a line of position.

Mark 3 Sextant
Sometimes referred to as a "lifeboat" sextant, the Mark 3 is an inexpensive training sextant. Yet this model has taken sailors around the world, too! It is full-sized and has sunshades, but no optical magnification to help you find dim celestial bodies.

This model has many great features including seven large sunshades, a 3 mm x 27 mm star scope, and easy-to-read micrometer drum vernier scale that reads to 2/10 of a minute. Mark 25 Sextant
The top of the line Davis plastic sextant, the Mark 25 features our Beam Converger mirror, sometimes referred to as a "full horizon mirror". A special coating is applied to high quality optical glass to allow the user to see through this mirror, yet still pick up images as faint as low-light stars.
