AQUATIC STATIC RESPIROMETRY CHAMBERS

Qubit's respirometry chambers are specifically designed for intermittent flow respirometry measurements on aquatic organisms (most often, fish). The chambers have 2 ports located on each end of the to allow water in and out. A dissolved oxygen probe is inserted into a separate chamber (D025). There are baffles at both ends of the chamber to provide laminar flow through the entire chamber.

General

Use the respirometers with your own oxygen and data acquisition equipment or with our systems for automatic respirometry.
For flushing and recirculating the water in the chamber pumps are needed. We suggest pumps with a flow rate per minute five times the chamber volume (L), e.g. if chamber volume is 1 L, we recommend a 5 L/min pump.
To connect the pumps with the respirometer tubing is needed.
Replacement tubes are available, please contact us for details.

The D004 respirometry chamber is included with the FR1LP package or it can be purchased separately. This chamber has been designed for small fish no more than 2 inches in diameter and 6 inches in length. The chamber is made of transparent acrylic which may break if dropped, take extra care when handling the chamber.
