Qubit's pH Sensor can be substituted for any traditional pH meter. The advantages are trifold: automated data collection, graphing and data analysis using the C410 LabPro Interface and C901 Logger Pro Software. For field work, it can be used with a Palm hand-held computer and C915 Palm/Data Pro software.
Applications include:
Acid-base titrations
Investigations of acid rain and buffering
Investigations of water quality in streams and lakes
Monitoring pH change during chemical reactions
Monitoring pH changes in an aquarium as a result of photosynthesis
Specifications for the pH Electrode include:
Sealed, gel-filled, epoxy body, Ag/AgCI
Response time is 90% of final reading in 1 second
Temperature range is 5 to 80oC
12 mm Outer Diameter
pH range is pH 0 - 14
12 bit resolution (with LabPro Interface) 0.005 pH units
Isopotential pH is pH 7
Output is 59.2 mV/pH at 25oC
The pH sensor is factory-calibrated. If re-calibration is required, it is a simple two point procedure using buffer solutions. Qubit can supply a buffer kit including 4 tablets each of buffer pH 4, 7, and 10. Each tablet is added to 100 mL of distilled water to prepare respective pH buffer solutions.
