The 50W Halogen Light Source, used in investigations of photosynthetic oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange, radiates broad-spectrum white light. It requires AC power and cannot be used in the field. The Halogen Light source produces a significant amount of heat load. When using it as a light source above a leaf chamber, ensure that a cooling water bath sits on top of the leaf chamber to absorb the heat.
Features include:
Variable output when used with a separate (A112) Power Regulator
Max output of 1400 祄ol quanta/m2/s (if put 11cm above the leaf chamber)
Bracket supplied for mounting on A101 Laboratory Stand
The red, blue and green filters included in the A211 Leaf Chamber Accessories Kit, each transmit the same quantum flux when used with the Halogen Light Source.
The Halogen Light Source comes standard with the PH1LP Photosynthesis Package and the CO500LP Basic Carbon Dioxide Package.
It comes as an accessory to the OX1LP Dissolved Oxygen Package.
HALOGEN LIGHT SOURCE
Qubit Systems' LED light source is designed for use with our G112 Flow-Through Leaf Chamber to study photosynthesis, respiration and photorespiration. The LED light source consists of nine red LEDs mounted in a support that fits on the upper side of the leaf chamber. It uses a DC power supply and can be powered by the A242 Battery Pack in the field.
Features include:
Peak wavelength of 660 +/- 10 nm
Photon flux variable up to 1000 祄ol quanta/m2/s PAR (at leaf surface)
No separate light sensor required
No heat load on the leaf
Calibrated for read-out in units of 祄ol quanta/m2/s (if used with Logger Pro software)
The LED light source cannot be used for applications in which wavelengths outside the 650 - 670 nm range are needed. In these cases, Qubit Systems' A111 Halogen Light Source is an option.
The LED light source is included in the CO650LP Advanced Carbon Dioxide Analysis Package.
