The Concept
This package allows accurate measurements of photosynthesis, respiration and photorespiration at a fraction of the cost of research-grade instruments. The package includes a 0-2000 ppm CO2 Analyzer, Flow Through Leaf Chamber and a Battery Pack which is capable of running all instruments. For more comprehensive measurements of flow rate, this package also includes a Digital Flow Monitor which allows you to view flow rate on the computer screen and save the information in the data file.
Plant CO2 Analysis Manuals
The Instructor's Manual includes detailed information on every aspect of the CO2 analysis packages. In both the Instructor's and Student's Manuals, background information is provided for each of the 8 experiments described, and protocols are presented in a logical and precise manner. Data analysis sections introduce students to numerous photosynthetic parameters including: Carboxylation Efficiency, CO2 Compensation Point, Photochemical Efficiency, Light and CO2 Saturation Kinetics. All experiments may be adapted for students at different levels, and a CD is provided for easy editing. Purchasers are assigned the unlimited right to copy software and manuals for use in their University Department.

Optional Additions:
Consider adding an S171 Leaf Chamber Thermistor to directly measure leaf temperature while the leaf is inside the sample chamber.
For a less expensive system to measure Photosynthesis, consider the CO750 package which uses a rotameter flow meter instead of the Digital Flow Controller & Monitor.
